Despite the fact that the Indianapolis Colts have been one of the most consistently successful teams over the past several years, they are going through a major shakeup this offseason. The change came not because the franchise wanted to go in a different direction, however, and instead because head coach Tony Dungy decided to retire.

The changes have continued recently as longtime veteran coaches Tom Moore and Howard Mudd decided to retire. Not long after, the Colts announced internal replacements along with new hires Ron Johnson and Frank Winters. Clyde Christensen was named offensive coordinator to replace Moore and Pete Metzelaars will replace Mudd as the offensive line coach. Be there to cheer on all of the new coaches with Indianapolis Colts tickets online.

Tom Moore spent 11 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and has nearly four dozen years of coaching experience. He attended the University of Iowa, where he was a quarterback. He got his start in the coaching ranks with his alma mater in 1961, staying in the college ranks into the 1970s with teams like Dayton, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Minnesota. After coaching for a season in the WFL, he went back to the college ranks for a few more seasons. He started coaching in the NFL in 1977 with the Pittsburgh Steelers as their wide receivers coach. He moved to the offensive coordinator before leaving in 1989. E has similar positions with the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints before coming to the Indianapolis Colts in 1998.

Howard Mudd has also been with the Colts since 1998, but his story stars long before the Colts. Along with many years of coaching experience, Mudd also played with the San Francisco 49ers and the Chicago Bears. He left the NFL in 1971 after a career-ending knee injury and started coaching with the University of California as an offensive line coach in 1972. He didn't spend much time in the college ranks, becoming the offensive line coach of the San Diego Chargers in 1974. He had the same role with the Niners in 1977, the Seattle Seahawks from 1979 to 1982 and again from 1993 to 1997, the Cleveland Browns from 1983 to 1988 and the Kansas City Chiefs from 1989 to 1992. Since coming to the Colts, his offensive line has been one of the stingiest, allowing only 214 sacks in the last 176 games.

Ron Johnson will be helping with wide receivers as an intern. He was a wide receiver with the Baltimore Ravens from 2002 to 2003, giving him inside knowledge of what the position takes. He also played in the Arena Football League before it went under. Frank Winters will be an intern working with the offensive line. Winters also has vast experience in the NFL as he was the center that Brett Favre relied upon during some of his most productive seasons. He also won a Super Bowl with Green Bay in 1996. He was with Green Bay for 11 seasons and in the NFL for 16 seasons.
